The Faculty-Train-Faculty Program, a collaboration between Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) and Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP), aims to upskill and assist the Malaysian university faculty members to develop new or existing initiatives that encourage entrepreneurial thinking and increase Malaysian university student's interest in entrepreneurship.

Key Initiatives

New Topics

Building on the observation that the faculty members had during their visits to Stanford University, new impactful topics will be introduced to the current curriculum to stimulate students’ interest in entrepreneurship and expose them to ways of emphathizing with target users and solving problems. The topics may include Design Thinking and Creativity & Innovation, both of which are popular classes taught in Stanford University.

Teaching & Engagement Methods

Moving away from lecture sessions, new teaching methods are to be introduced to increase interaction between faculty members and students. This may include team teaching whereby more than a single facutly member get to share diverse points of views, and engagment of local startup founders to share their journey and lessons learned as an entrepreneur.

Assessment Methods

Reducing the weight carried by paper-based final exam, students will be evaluted more on their participation throughout the class duration, and the final projects that allow students to integrate and practice hands-on all elements taught.
